Getting to the Bottom of Bottom Drains
Bottom drains are advantageous in koi ponds and water gardens where water quality and clarity are important.

The Outdoor Gardenn Pond
If you are considering building a pond or even if you already have some pond experience, this article will introduce you to some novel tips and tricks, dispel some myths and perhaps reinforce good notions you may already have for pleasant endeavors with aquatic gardening.

Koi Pond Filters
Clear water in your Koi pond does not necessarily mean clean water, it may contain colorless impurities, such as ammonia and nitrite, that are harmful and can kill koi.

Ultra Violet Pond Filter
Having an ultra violet pond filter will give you a much better chance at keeping your pond water clear.

How big should my pond be?
As large as possible as larger ponds are less costly per gallon and require less maintenance.

What Don’t Pond Filters Do?
Unfortunately, what typical pond filters aren’t designed to do is to single-handedly keep water “crystal clear” - at least not to the extent that aquarium filters do.

How big does the filter have to be?
In general the bigger the better as bigger filters last longer between cleaning and handle large fish loads.
